Scene V

The scene opens to the library at the Cottonwood plantation, there are officers moving about the room. Deputy Grafton, Detective Grafton, and Doctor MacIntosh are standing over the body of Ellery Cottonwood.

Dr. MacIntosh: (with a Scottish accent) He's missing his lower membrane that's why he didn’t flop.
Dep. Grafton: That highly unfortunate doctor, thank you for your medical expertise. (Turning to his brother) Luc did you find anything?
Dec. Grafton: Well, I've taken the impression that he choked to death on something, but as far as I can see there is nothing lodged in his throat. I'll need the body brought back to the forensics lab for a proper inspection.
Dep. Grafton: yes of course, and we'll also have to notify his relatives as soon as possible. Did the officer find a number where we can reach the mother or daughter?
Dec. Grafton: yes he has the daughter's cell phone number (hands Chips a piece of paper), I'm going to warm up the car.
Dr. Mac: If you are done with my services I think I shall be going.
Dep. Grafton: Of course doctor, by all means go on home, if we need anything else we know where to reach you.
Dr. Mac: Goodnight Gentlemen
The camera watches the doctor exit via the library doors and then cuts to Rusty Parts auto centre where Lt. Parkside has brought his cruiser. There is a strange and mysterious motorcycle parked in the garage. Lt. Parkside is just getting out of the car; he is wearing his uniform, and is of course militarily handsome
